Deposit Policy
Once a litter has been bred we will accept deposits on 3 males and 3 females. After the litter has been born and the remainder of the puppies genders have been determined, we will accept deposits for the rest of the litter. A non-refundable deposit of $500 dollars is required to hold a puppy from a specific litter. The deposit does not place a hold on a specific dog but a marketable dog of the gender indicated on the contract. This is a non-refundable deposit, meaning you will not receive a refund for any change of mind or circumstance. However, as the contract stipulates if there are not enough marketable puppies that reach 8 weeks from that litter you will receive a refund. This would happen in the unfortunate event that a puppy died, or not enough puppies of a specific gender were born. You will also have the option at that time to transfer that deposit to a different litter.
Selection Process
We take great pride in ensuring that each puppy gets matched with the right family. While it is a fun idea to be able to select a puppy. The reality of making a well-informed decision with 10 wagging tails and wet tounges is much unlikely. In a 30-minute visit you wouldn't be able to get the whole scope of the puppy's personalities, as they fluctuate throughout the day. A normally energetic puppy may have worn himself out and appear to be the most reserved. We keep extensive notes on each puppy since birth and feel we are best equipped to pick which puppy would fit best in each family. To know you and your needs, we use your application as the first step, followed by a questionaire. We build a portfolio for each puppy as they grow up, including everything from birth weights to how they reacted to different socialization techniques. We finish this off with a puppy personality test at 7 weeks. This test is designed to understand not only the puppy's socialization thus far but also what their tendencies will be as an adult. We will keep you updated about the litter as a whole, what they are learning, how they are growing, and lots of cute pictures and videos. Then at 7 weeks, you will receive your match!
Pick-Up Policy
You will be able to schedule a pick up time between a month before they are ready to go home. They will be ready for pick up between 8-9 weeks of age. The expectation is that you will pick up the puppy from our home. You may also fly to pickup your puppy if you live outside of the North West. We can deliver the puppy to the Bend-Redmond Airport for your convenience. We do not ship puppies in cargo (expectations are made for international travel). For all domestic flights, puppies must be in the cabin with you. If you are hoping to make arrangements for the dog to be delivered outside of central Oregon or want to keep the dog with us longer, arrangements must be made no later than 3 weeks before pick-up. The Bend airport is a bit smaller, so we are sometimes able to deliver a puppy to the Portland International Airport. If you are unable to pick up your puppy when they turn 8 weeks, we can keep the puppy up until 10 weeks for a boarding fee. If you wish to keep the puppy with us longer it must be enrolled in one of our training programs. Please see the training program page for details on this. We can sometimes deliver the puppy to you but do not allow third-party shippers/handlers. You or an immediate family member must pick up the puppy from our home or arrangements are made for us to deliver a puppy. See below for alternative arrangements and pricing. Requests for transport and boarding must be finalized well in advance.
